Terms of Use
The rules for using the Job Referral platform. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1 The service
Job Referral is a private, invite-only network that connects vetted professionals with employers through trusted referrals, keeping members anonymous until they choose to engage. We provide the platform; we are not an employer, employment agency substitute, or party to any contract you enter with an employer or professional unless expressly agreed.
2 Who can use it
- Professionals join by invitation only, from an existing member in an eligible country. You must be at least 18 and legally able to work in the market you list.
- Employers must register and be verified before they can search for or reveal candidates, and agree to the Employer Terms.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Profiles built from a CV or LinkedIn import are your responsibility to review before publishing.
3 Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access. One person, one account; don't share or transfer it.
4 Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Provide false information, impersonate others, or misrepresent your experience, references or right to work.
- Use the platform to probe for, harvest or scrape members' identities or data.
- Circumvent the platform to engage a person or company introduced through it, outside the service (see the Employer Terms for the employer-side commitment).
- Post unlawful, discriminatory, misleading or abusive content, or invite people you would not genuinely vouch for.
- Interfere with the platform's security or operation, or attempt unauthorised access.
5 Referrals & anonymity
Referrals carry weight: vouching for someone who breaches these terms may affect your own standing on the network. References you give are stored and shown anonymously until a candidate accepts to be viewed. Referral rewards, where offered, are subject to the terms stated at the time and to a genuine, completed placement.
6 Intellectual property
The platform, its design, branding and content are owned by Job Referral and protected by law. You keep ownership of the content you submit (your profile, references), and grant us a licence to host, display and process it to operate the service. You may not copy, resell or create derivative works from the platform without our permission.
7 Disclaimers
We work hard to keep the network high-quality and available, but we provide the service "as is". We don't guarantee a match, an interview, a placement, or the conduct or suitability of any member or employer. Verification and vetting reduce but don't eliminate risk — use your own judgement before entering any engagement.
8 Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts, omissions or contracts of members and employers. Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you've paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.
9 Suspension & termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or remove access if you breach these terms, put the network's trust at risk, or where required by law. We'll act proportionately and, where appropriate, tell you why.
10 Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be highlighted and the "last updated" date changed. Continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: [email protected].
