Employer Terms
These terms govern how employers find, reveal and engage professionals on Job Referral. You agree to them each time you reveal a candidate's profile.
1 Access & eligibility
Job Referral is a private, referral-built network of vetted professionals. Access for employers is granted on the basis that you are a bona fide organisation hiring for genuine, funded roles, and that the person accepting these terms is authorised to do so on the organisation's behalf.
We may verify your organisation and withdraw access at our discretion, particularly where these terms are not met.
2 Profile reveals & limited views
Professionals appear anonymously until you choose to reveal a profile. Reveals are deliberately limited in number to keep the network high-trust and to protect professionals from being contacted speculatively.
- Each reveal consumes one of your available profile views.
- You should only reveal a candidate where you have a genuine, current role for which they are a credible fit.
- Revealing a profile is not an offer of employment and creates no obligation on the professional.
3 No circumvention
This is the core commitment that makes the network work. Once a professional has been introduced to you through Job Referral, you agree that you will not, whether directly or through any associated entity:
- approach, solicit, engage, hire or contract with that professional outside the platform; or
- introduce or pass that professional's details to any third party in order to engage them outside the platform.
This applies to any professional introduced to you, for the duration of your relationship with Job Referral and for a defined period afterwards. Attempting to take an introduction off-platform to avoid fees is a material breach of these terms.
4 Confidentiality
Information revealed about a professional — including their identity, employment history, references and contact details — is confidential. You agree to:
- use it solely to assess and progress the specific role for which it was revealed;
- share it only with members of your hiring team who need it for that purpose; and
- not publish, sell, or otherwise disclose it to any third party.
5 Placement fees
Where you engage a professional introduced through Job Referral — whether on a contract, permanent, fixed-term or any other basis — that engagement is subject to Job Referral's fees, as set out in your commercial agreement with us.
Fees are payable regardless of whether the engagement is arranged on or off the platform, and regardless of the job title or entity through which the person is engaged, where the engagement arises from an introduction made here.
6 Data protection
You will handle all personal data accessed through Job Referral in accordance with applicable data-protection law (including the UK GDPR). You will keep it only as long as needed for the relevant role, keep it secure, and delete it on request where you have no lawful basis to retain it. Each party acts as an independent controller in respect of the personal data it handles.
7 Good-faith conduct
You agree to use the platform in good faith — revealing profiles only for genuine roles, responding to professionals professionally and within reasonable timeframes, and not using reveals to build a private database of candidates. Patterns of reveals without genuine hiring intent may lead to reduced access.
8 Records & audit
For security and to enforce these terms, we record each profile reveal and each acceptance of these terms — including the account used, the candidate revealed, the time, and technical details such as IP address and device. These records may be used to investigate suspected circumvention or misuse.
9 Breach & suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms — in particular the no-circumvention and confidentiality commitments. Breach may also give rise to liability for fees that would otherwise have been payable, and to other remedies available to us in law.
10 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one presented to you at the point you reveal a profile, and your acceptance at that point applies to that reveal. Material changes will be highlighted before they take effect.
